Adyant Dagur has announced his transition to the investment team at Reverie, a New York-based crypto investment firm. Dagur, previously a key member of Sorella Labs, will now focus on backing builders within the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector and beyond. His appointment aligns with Reverie's mission to support early-stage companies shaping the future of the crypto landscape.

Reverie, founded by Larry Sukernik and Derek Hsue, launched its flagship $20 million crypto venture fund, Reverie Fund One, in September 2023. The firm specializes in pre-seed and seed-stage investments, aiming to cultivate "generational companies and protocols." Sukernik and Hsue, both former investors at Digital Currency Group and Blockchain Capital respectively, emphasize a hands-on approach to nurturing portfolio companies.

Dagur's background at Sorella Labs provides significant expertise in critical blockchain infrastructure. Sorella Labs is recognized for developing tools like Brontes and Angstrom, which address Maximum Extractable Value (MEV) issues on the Ethereum network. This experience in technical and research-driven aspects of DeFi is expected to bolster Reverie's strategic investment capabilities.

In his announcement, Dagur expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating, > "Thrilled to announce that I’m joining @hi_Reverie as part of their investment team." He also extended gratitude to his former colleagues, acknowledging, > "Wanted to thank the amazing team @SorellaLabs for showing me what the best of the best in crypto looks like." He concluded by inviting potential founders, "Excited now to back incredible builders pushing the boundaries of DeFi and beyond. If that’s you, my DMs are always open!"

Reverie's investment philosophy prioritizes projects building "truly useful products" that move beyond mere speculation. The firm seeks to partner with founders focused on product-market fit and sustainable growth. Dagur's addition is poised to enhance the firm's capacity to identify and support innovative teams poised to drive significant advancements in the DeFi ecosystem.
