San Francisco, CA – Tynthia Bouza, 39, has been arrested and charged in connection with a knife attack on a restaurateur near 6th and Mission in the city's SoMa district. The incident, which involved brandishing a weapon, vandalism, and interfering with business, saw the suspect charged by the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. The attack occurred at Shawarma Azmi, where owner Azmi Murait was reportedly stabbed after confronting individuals engaged in suspected drug activity.

According to reports, the confrontation escalated when Murait asked Bouza and her companions to leave his establishment. Surveillance video captured the altercation, showing the woman allegedly grabbing a knife and attacking Murait. The restaurateur, a father of three, defended himself with a metal colander during the assault, as he recounted, "I say thank you, God, 'cause you saved me."

Bouza, who reportedly has prior arrests for assault, was taken into custody by the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) Southern Station. She faces charges including assault with a deadly weapon (ADW), brandishing, vandalism, and interfering with business, as confirmed by the SFDA Office under District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. The swift action by law enforcement led to her booking into county jail.

Following the violent encounter, San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie visited Shawarma Azmi to offer support to Murait and his business. The mayor's visit underscored concerns about safety for local businesses in the area. Murait, despite his injuries, expressed a message of forgiveness, stating, "My message is no matter what’s your situation, you have no right to hurt somebody who actually always helping you to eat the food."

The incident highlights ongoing discussions regarding public safety and support for small businesses in San Francisco's Mid-Market and SoMa neighborhoods. The charges against Bouza will proceed through the legal system, with the community awaiting further developments in the case.
