French company AE-Motion has introduced an innovative four-wheeled electric vehicle, described as a "microcar," designed to revolutionize urban mobility. The vehicle, which features a unique tilting chassis, aims to combine the agility of a motorcycle with the safety and comfort of a traditional car. Noted personality Mario Nawfal shared content about the vehicle, sourced from Supercar Blondie, stating it "blurs the line between a supercar and a sci-fi fever dream."
AE-Motion's creation is remarkably narrow, measuring just 31 inches wide, enabling it to navigate congested city streets and tight spaces with unprecedented ease. This "thin mobility" concept allows the vehicle to lean into corners by up to 35 degrees, mimicking a motorcycle's dynamic handling while maintaining the stability of four wheels. Supercar Blondie highlighted its ability to "weave through traffic like it’s not even there."
The two-passenger microcar boasts a top speed of 71 mph and an electric range of 124 miles, with the option to extend this via swappable battery packs. Equipped with a proper roof, seatbelts, and safety systems, it offers a secure and enclosed riding experience. AE-Motion has been developing this concept for over a decade, producing seven prototypes since 2014, with commercial sales expected to commence in 2026.
The company positions its vehicle as a practical solution to modern urban challenges, including traffic, pollution, and rising fuel prices. Its electric powertrain ensures zero tailpipe emissions and lower running costs compared to gasoline-powered cars. The microcar has already garnered attention at events such as Viva Technology in Paris, signaling growing interest in its potential to redefine city commuting.
