Art Blocks Marks Five-Year Milestone with Jeff Davis's 'Drawings for a Monument' as Final AB500 Release

Art Blocks, the premier generative art platform, has announced the launch of "Mint #0" for "Drawings for a Monument" by acclaimed artist Jeff Davis. This significant release is part of the "AB500 Comes Full Circle" event, commemorating the platform's five-year anniversary. The project, which saw its initial token minted on November 27, 2025, alongside two other foundational works, is now detailed on the Art Blocks exhibition page.

The official Art Blocks account announced the milestone, stating: "> Mint #0 of Drawings for a Monument by @jeffgdavis is here… Check out the exhibition page for details on eligibility and minting." This collection comprises 1,000 unique artworks, serving as an homage to the chromatic identity of Art Blocks' Curated collection through geometric studies. Davis's algorithmic process meticulously replicates his traditional hand-working methods, employing rulers and brushes for precision.

"The drawings are equal parts technical investigation and emotional introspection as a way to more fully understand my history with Art Blocks over the last five years," Jeff Davis explained regarding his latest work. He added, "In the end, the full series of drawings becomes the monument itself," highlighting the project's deeply personal and retrospective nature. This approach connects his digital techniques with his origins as a painter.

"Drawings for a Monument" is one of three final projects in the Art Blocks 500 series, which also includes "Diggly Collects All" by DCA and "send/receive" by Snowfro. These projects, falling under the Art Blocks Explorations category, emphasize experimentation and are available for free claiming starting December 1, based on collector achievements earned over the past five years. Eligibility is determined by a snapshot taken on November 23.

The claiming process for "Drawings for a Monument" is staggered, beginning on December 1 for Curated Collectors, followed by Art Collectors on December 3, and opening to any Art Blocks token holder on December 5. Jeff Davis, a generative artist and Strategic Advisor to Art Blocks, has been a pivotal figure since the platform's inception, known for his abstract works that explore geometric structure and color arrangement. His art has been exhibited internationally, including at Sotheby's and Phillips, solidifying his influence in the generative art space.
