The Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) has garnered significant investor interest, accumulating $444 million in net inflows since its launch, capturing 89% of all Solana ETF inflows. The fund, which began trading on October 28, 2025, on the New York Stock Exchange, offers investors direct exposure to Solana (SOL) and aims to provide staking rewards through professionally managed staking. This launch marks a notable expansion in regulated crypto investment products within the U.S. market.
However, potential investors are urged to exercise caution, as stated in a recent announcement by Bitwise CEO Hunter Horsley: > "This material must be accompanied by a prospectus. Please read the prospectus carefully before investing. To obtain a current prospectus visit [website link]. BSOL is not suitable for all investors. An investment in BSOL is subject to a high degree of risk, has the potential for significant volatility, and could result in significant or complete loss of investment." The tweet further clarified that BSOL is not registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940 (the “1940 Act”) and therefore does not offer the same protections as mutual funds or ETFs registered under that act, emphasizing that it is not equivalent to a direct investment in Solana (SOL).
BSOL is designed to provide investors with 100% direct exposure to SOL, with the added benefit of staking rewards. Bitwise aims to stake 100% of the fund's SOL holdings through its in-house Bitwise Onchain Solutions, powered by Helius, a leading Solana staking technology provider. This strategy seeks to maximize participation in Solana's average staking rewards, with a sponsor fee of 0.20% and a staking fee of 0.06% applied after an initial three-month period.
The substantial inflows into BSOL highlight a growing institutional and retail appetite for crypto investment products that combine asset exposure with staking yield opportunities. Bitwise Asset Management, a global crypto asset manager, has positioned BSOL as a key offering in its suite of over 30 crypto investment products. Hunter Horsley, CEO of Bitwise, previously noted that investors value both growth potential and staking rewards, stating, "BSOL provides low-cost exposure to both. We’re thrilled to create high-quality access to one of the most widely used blockchains in crypto: Solana." Foreside Fund Services, LLC serves as the marketing agent for BSOL.
