Brycson Malik Gaddis: Prior Carjacking Case Dismissed, Domestic Violence Arrest Unprosecuted Before Murder Arrest

Los Angeles, CA  Public scrutiny has intensified regarding the criminal history of Brycson Malik Gaddis, 20, following his recent arrest in connection with the death of a young boy in Panorama City. Concerns voiced on social media, including a tweet from user "EIE" stating, "> I want to hear more about why Brycson wasn't in jail for his previous violent carjacking and domestic violence arrests," highlight questions about the judicial outcomes of his prior alleged offenses.

Investigations into Gaddis's past reveal a July 2024 arrest for a violent carjacking in Pomona. Despite the arrest, the district attorney's office did not prosecute the case, citing legal time limits, and a judge subsequently dismissed it. This outcome meant Gaddis was not incarcerated for that particular incident.

Earlier in January, Gaddis was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic violence. While a protective order was issued against him, the case did not lead to a custodial sentence. These instances allowed Gaddis to remain out of jail despite facing serious allegations.

Further complicating his legal status, a warrant for Gaddis's arrest was issued in May. This occurred after he allegedly disabled his court-appointed GPS tracker and failed to appear in court, indicating a lapse in supervision prior to his most recent apprehension.
