Anysphere, founded in 2022 by MIT alumni Sualeh Asif, Arvid Lunnemark, Aman Sanger, and Michael Truell, launched Cursor in 2023. The company secured $8 million in seed funding, notably led by OpenAI's Startup Fund, underscoring investor confidence in its vision for AI-driven development. This funding has supported Cursor's rapid development and market penetration.
