EigenDA V2 Achieves 100 MB/s Throughput, Propelling Ethereum's Scalability on 10th Anniversary

EigenDA, a leading data availability solution, announced the launch of its V2 iteration with a throughput of 100 MB/s, coinciding with Ethereum's 10th anniversary on July 31, 2025.

"Today, on @ethereum's 10th anniversary, we re launching EigenDA V2 with 100 MB/s throughput, making it the first data availability solution to break the THREE-digit barrier," the official @EigenDA account stated in a tweet. This significant upgrade is poised to substantially enhance the scalability and performance of Ethereum rollups and the broader ecosystem as it enters its second decade.

Developed by Eigen Labs, EigenDA operates as a crucial data availability layer built upon the EigenLayer restaking primitive. Its core purpose is to provide hyperscale data services, addressing the historical bottlenecks of data availability throughput and costs for blockchain applications. By leveraging Ethereum's economic security through restaking, EigenDA enables rollups to achieve significantly lower transaction costs and higher throughput.

The V2 launch represents a substantial leap, doubling the previous testnet target of 50 MB/s and comfortably sustaining 100 MB/s in real-world deployments. This achievement is underpinned by innovations like LittDB, a custom database designed for high-volume data availability, and extensive stress tests that demonstrated peak rates of 124 MB/s. EigenDA V2's enhanced capabilities allow Ethereum rollups to operate at speeds comparable to, and in some metrics exceeding, traditional payment systems like Visa.

Several prominent projects are already integrating or testing EigenDA V2, signaling growing trust in its capabilities. Fuel Network and Aevo are leveraging the solution in production for high-speed rollups and derivatives trading, while MegaETH Labs and Celo are currently conducting tests. The Mantle Network's adoption further underscores the ecosystem-wide recognition of EigenDA V2's potential to support decentralized and efficient rollup operations.

The economic security of EigenDA is bolstered by billions of dollars in restaked ETH and EIGEN through the EigenLayer network, reinforcing its robust and decentralized nature. As Ethereum enters its second decade, the launch of EigenDA V2 is poised to be a pivotal development, fostering the next wave of innovation by providing the necessary infrastructure for cloud-scale decentralized applications and further solidifying Ethereum's position as a leading blockchain platform.
