Los Angeles, CA – Formula 1 driver Sergio "Checo" Pérez threw the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, before the Los Angeles Dodgers' game against the Philadelphia Phillies. The event celebrated Mexican Heritage Month and Mexican Independence Day, marking a significant cross-sport collaboration orchestrated by TWG Global, which owns both the Dodgers and the upcoming Cadillac Formula 1 Team. Pérez's appearance highlighted his role as a prominent Mexican athlete and his recent signing with Cadillac F1 for their 2026 debut.

The six-time Grand Prix winner participated in batting practice, toured the Dodgers' clubhouse, and exchanged his F1 helmet for a personalized Dodgers jersey. "I’m honored to throw the ceremonial first pitch for the Dodgers, especially during Mexican Heritage Month and so close to Mexican Independence Day," Pérez stated, emphasizing his pride in celebrating with the Los Angeles community and Mexican fans. He also noted the unifying power of sport, even for someone new to baseball.

Pérez, 35, announced in August 2025 that he would join the Cadillac Formula 1 Team for the 2026 campaign, alongside Valtteri Bottas. This visit to Dodger Stadium served as one of the first public crossovers of TWG Global’s diverse sports portfolios, which include MLB's Dodgers and the new American F1 entry. The Cadillac F1 Team, a partnership between TWG Global and General Motors, aims to redefine American presence on the global F1 stage.

Mark Walter, Chairman of the Los Angeles Dodgers and CEO of TWG Global, underscored the strategic implications of the event. "We’re honored to welcome Checo to Dodger Stadium during Mexican Heritage Month, an occasion that highlights the power of sport to unite fans," Walter said. He added that the moment reflected TWG's commitment to excellence and inspiring global fanbases through its multi-sport model. Dan Towriss, CEO of TWG Motorsports and the Cadillac Formula 1 Team, echoed this sentiment, calling it "a celebration of sport and culture."
