Federation of American Scientists and Recoding America Partner to Enhance State Permit Tracking

The Federation of American Scientists (FAI) and Recoding America's State Team have launched a new initiative focused on improving how state governments track existing permits. Announced by Samuel Roland, a Program Manager at FAI, the effort aims to address long-standing inefficiencies in state permitting processes, highlighting a critical question for states regarding their current tracking capabilities. Samuel Roland, in a recent social media post, introduced the "New State Permitting Drop" from FAI, stating, "> This time with the folks from @pahlkadot's Recoding America Fund State Team." He further posed the central inquiry guiding the initiative: "> How can your state best track its existing permits?" This question underscores the project's objective to identify and promote best practices for permit management.

Recoding America is a non-profit organization dedicated to modernizing government services by integrating contemporary technology and expertise into public service. Their State & Local program specifically works with state governments to implement digital practices, including those for permitting and licensing. This partnership with FAI aligns with both organizations' missions to improve public sector effectiveness and service delivery.
