The "Walk Across America: One Million Steps to Restore Merit and Opportunity" is a year-long endeavor, spanning 365 walking days from New York City to Los Angeles and passing through over 50 cities. The primary goal of this cross-country trek is to raise $25 million. These funds are earmarked for the completion of Project H.O.O.D.'s 90,000-square-foot Leadership and Economic Opportunity Center in Woodlawn, Chicago, along with establishing a school for boys from single-parent homes and replicating the organization's transformative work nationwide.

Pastor Brooks gained national recognition for spending 94 days, and later 343 days, living on a Chicago rooftop to protest violence and raise funds for community development. His Project H.O.O.D. aims to combat poverty and violence through mentorship, job training, and community support. The RV donation is expected to provide crucial logistical support for the demanding journey, which will include revivals, rallies, and community conversations in cities along the route.
