Ghislaine Maxwell Answers All Questions in Hours-Long DOJ Interview

Tallahassee, Florida – Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted accomplice of Jeffrey Epstein, reportedly answered every question posed by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche during an extensive meeting on July 24, 2025. Her attorney, David Oscar Markus, stated outside the U.S. District Court in Tallahassee that Maxwell "answered every single question" truthfully and honestly, never invoking any privilege during the hours-long session.

The meeting took place amid mounting public and political pressure on the Department of Justice to release information related to the Jeffrey Epstein case files. Deputy Attorney General Blanche initiated the interview, stating earlier in the week that if Maxwell possessed information about individuals who committed crimes against victims, the DOJ would hear her testimony. He also noted that no previous administration had sought to interview her.

However, the private nature of the meeting drew criticism from some lawmakers. Democratic Senate Leader Chuck Schumer expressed concerns on social media, stating, "Under no circumstances should anyone from Trump’s DOJ be allowed to privately interview Ghislaine Maxwell." Similarly, Representative Dan Goldman suggested Maxwell might be "looking for a pardon," while House Speaker Mike Johnson questioned her trustworthiness.

Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year sentence at a federal prison in Tallahassee for sex trafficking and is appealing her conviction to the U.S. Supreme Court. Following the initial meeting, Deputy Attorney General Blanche indicated that he would continue his interview with Maxwell, and the House Oversight Committee has also issued a subpoena for her to testify remotely on August 11, 2025.
