Pfaff Motorsports has officially announced its driver lineup for the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season, confirming Canadian racing star James Hinchcliffe as a fourth driver for the prestigious Rolex 24 at Daytona. The team will field the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2 for its final outing at Daytona before transitioning to the all-new Lamborghini Temerario GT3 for the remainder of the season, starting with the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Hinchcliffe, a six-time IndyCar Series race winner and prominent motorsports broadcaster, will join full-season drivers Andrea Caldarelli and Sandy Mitchell, along with Mirko Bortolotti, for the endurance classic. This marks a continued collaboration, as Hinchcliffe has previously competed with Pfaff Motorsports in endurance rounds during the 2024 and 2025 seasons. His participation adds significant experience and fan appeal to the Canadian team's efforts.

The announcement comes as Pfaff Motorsports, founded by Chris Pfaff in 1986, prepares for a pivotal year. The Toronto-based team, known for its distinctive plaid livery and past championships in IMSA GTD and GTD PRO categories, is making a strategic shift with the introduction of Lamborghini's next-generation GT3 car. This transition underscores the team's commitment to competitive racing in the GTD PRO class.

Separately, a local Indianapolis resident named Jim Pfaff has clarified his non-affiliation with the racing team, despite sharing a name and native city. > "Though I do share the same name and I am a native of Indianapolis, I have nothing to do with @pfaffmotorsport," he stated in a social media post, adding, "But with @Hinchtown driving for them in 2026, I sure wish I did have something to do with it!" This highlights the public interest surrounding the team's high-profile driver additions.

Hinchcliffe's role as a part-time endurance driver allows him to balance his racing passion with his successful career as a commentator for IndyCar and Formula 1 broadcasts. His return to the cockpit for key events like Daytona is highly anticipated by fans, as Pfaff Motorsports aims to return to championship-contending form with its updated driver roster and new machinery.
