A recent investor delegation, led by prominent industry analyst Lei Xing, concluded a five-day immersive Electric Vehicle (EV) trip across three major Chinese cities, engaging with ten companies in the burgeoning smart EV, autonomous vehicle (AV), and mobility ecosystem. Rui Ma, founder of TechBuzz China, highlighted the trip on social media, stating, > "Tagging @leixing77 who led a group of investors for the @techbuzzchina EV Trip and met us there!"

The "TechBuzz China Autumn 2024 Investor EV Trip" aimed to provide participants with first-hand insights into China's rapidly evolving EV landscape. Over five days, investors visited a diverse range of companies involved in EV manufacturing, batteries, autonomous driving technology, and smart cockpit solutions. The comprehensive itinerary included visits to the Xiaomi EV plant, UISEE (an AV startup), Enpower Greentech (solid-state batteries), and ZEEKR, among others.

Lei Xing, co-host of the "China EVs & More" podcast and a veteran observer of the Chinese auto industry for over two decades, curated and led the investor group. According to his recap, the trip offered invaluable on-the-ground experiences and face-to-face meetings, which he noted were crucial for understanding the ecosystem beyond company reports and news. This marked the second such investor trip organized in collaboration with TechBuzz China in 2024, following a similar initiative in May.

The initiative underscores the growing international interest in China's competitive and innovative EV sector. Investors gained direct exposure to the speed and intensity of development, experiencing everything from high-performance EV test rides to product launch events. Such trips are vital for foreign investors to grasp the unique dynamics and rapid advancements within the Chinese market.

Industry analysts, including Xing himself, frequently comment on the fierce competition within China's EV market, where local players are rapidly innovating. These organized tours facilitate a deeper understanding of the strategic approaches and technological prowess of Chinese companies. The success of these trips has led to plans for another investor tour in May 2025, indicating continued demand for direct engagement with the Chinese EV industry.
