Kasparov Declares Ukraine "Only Country Fulfilling NATO's Destiny" at Halifax Forum

Garry Kasparov, the former world chess champion and prominent Russian opposition figure, asserted that "Ukraine is the only country that’s fulfilling NATO’s destiny and we owe them everything" during the 2025 Halifax International Security Forum. Speaking at the "Democracies Don't Despair" plenary session, Kasparov delivered a stark critique of Western policy, emphasizing Ukraine's pivotal role in halting Russian aggression. Kasparov, known for his outspoken criticism of Russian President Vladimir Putin, argued that NATO, in its current form, is a "fiction" and "does not exist" effectively.
