Landmark 81 Anchors $1.5 Billion Vinhomes Central Park in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – Vinhomes Central Park, a sprawling $1.5 billion mixed-use development, has transformed a former U.S. Army Logistics Base known as “Newport” into a modern urban landmark. This ambitious project, spearheaded by Vinhomes, Vietnam's largest real estate developer, was completed in 2018, following its groundbreaking in 2014. The development is a cornerstone of the city's rapid urbanization and a testament to its economic growth.

At the heart of Vinhomes Central Park stands Landmark 81, a supertall skyscraper that holds the distinction of being Vietnam’s tallest building and the second tallest in Southeast Asia. As noted in a recent social media post by Adam Mayer, the development is a "> $1.5 billion dollar mixed-use development on what was once a U.S. Army Logistics Base called “Newport”." The tower itself features a luxurious Autograph Collection hotel, residential apartments, and commercial spaces, contributing significantly to the integrated urban area.

Inspired by New York’s iconic Central Park, the Vietnamese development boasts nearly 14 hectares of green space and parks, offering residents and visitors a verdant oasis along the Saigon River. This design philosophy aimed to create a modern and high-end living environment, complete with extensive amenities and a focus on community living. The project is situated in the Bình Thạnh District, strategically positioned on the western banks of the Saigon River.

Vinhomes Central Park’s strategic location provides excellent connectivity to key areas of Ho Chi Minh City, including a short distance to the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien Metro line and District 1. The development encompasses a wide array of facilities, including shopping centers, international schools, and hospitals, establishing a self-contained ecosystem for its residents. The project underscores Vingroup's vision for creating integrated urban complexes that redefine modern living in Vietnam.
