LinksDAO Acquires Stake in Second Golf Course, Prepares for Token Launch

LinksDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) dedicated to golf enthusiasts, has expanded its real-world presence by securing an agreement to become partial owners of Hillcrest Golf Club in Kansas City. This strategic move follows the DAO's successful acquisition of Spey Bay Golf Club in Scotland and precedes the anticipated launch of its new community token, LINKS, on the Base blockchain. Co-founder Mike Dudas encouraged engagement with the platform, stating in a recent tweet, "grab one here, log in with the nft at the @linksdao site, jump in the discord, start enjoying life significantly more."

Founded with the ambitious goal of reimagining the traditional country club model, LinksDAO initially raised over $10 million through the sale of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) in early 2022. These NFT memberships provide holders with access to a global community of golf lovers, governance voting rights, and exclusive perks. The organization successfully bid on and closed the deal for the 18-hole Spey Bay Golf Club in Scotland in May 2023, with renovations for the course expected to begin soon.

The agreement for a stake in Hillcrest Golf Club marks LinksDAO's second physical golf course affiliation, demonstrating its continued growth and commitment to its community. This expansion aims to provide more tangible benefits and access for its global membership base. Concurrently, LinksDAO is set to launch its LINKS community token on the Base blockchain in the coming months, with one-third of the supply earmarked for existing LinksDAO NFT holders.

The LINKS token is designed to strengthen the DAO's golf-focused crypto network and further facilitate future course acquisitions and community initiatives. By leveraging the Base blockchain, LinksDAO aims to offer a seamless and efficient experience for its members, enhancing the utility and value of their NFT holdings. The organization continues to cultivate its community of thousands of golf lovers across 40 countries, promising events and access to its growing network of golf courses.
