Method Security, a New York City-based cybersecurity firm, has successfully raised $26 million in combined Seed and Series A funding to advance its mission of delivering cyber resilience to the U.S. Government and critical enterprises. The substantial investment round was co-led by prominent venture capital firms Andreessen Horowitz and General Catalyst, with significant participation from Blackstone Innovations Investments and other key investors. This funding aims to accelerate the deployment of Method's autonomous cyber platform, designed to counter the escalating threat of AI-driven cyberattacks. Daniel Kelly, President of Method Security, announced the funding via a social media post, stating, "Excited to share what we've been working on at Method and announce our $26M in funding from Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Blackstone, and others." Kelly, alongside co-founders Sam Jones (CEO) and Sean Hacker (CTO), previously worked at Palantir Technologies, where they developed the foundational idea for Method. Their shared vision for the company emerged from recognizing how artificial intelligence would fundamentally alter the landscape of cybersecurity. Method Security is developing a full-spectrum platform that integrates both offensive and defensive capabilities into a command-and-control layer for autonomous cyber operations. This innovative approach enables security teams to achieve comprehensive visibility, continuously test their digital estates, and effectively outpace adversaries. The company's solutions are currently deployed across the Department of Defense, the U.S. Federal Government, and Fortune 500 companies. Investors emphasized the critical need for advanced cybersecurity solutions in the face of evolving threats. David Ulevitch, General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, noted, "Cyber conflict is moving at machine speed. With state actors now weaponizing AI at scale, U.S. cyber operators need new autonomous systems to compete." Method's platform is designed to operationalize autonomy for cyber defense, allowing for continuous testing, adaptation, and strengthening of critical institutions. The $26 million capital infusion will be strategically utilized to accelerate the deployment of Method's autonomous cyber platform, expanding its reach within government and critical infrastructure sectors. Kelly concluded his announcement by expressing gratitude to their investors, who "believe that American cyber resilience is a challenge worth solving," signaling the company's commitment to its long-term vision of enhancing national security.
