Portland, Oregon – Authorities in Portland have cleared a long-standing Antifa encampment near the city’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility, an action that followed the circulation of viral video footage depicting militants obstructing streets and directing vehicle traffic. The clearance, which occurred recently, marks the end of an occupation that reportedly lasted for 140 days.

The encampment had become a focal point of ongoing protests, with independent journalist Nick Shirley stating on X that "After 140 days of controlling and camping on this street in Portland, ANTIFA has officially been cleared out as the police FINALLY stepped in and cleared the encampment." Shirley's footage and reports highlighted the presence of various supplies within the camp, including "loads full of medicine, medical gear, party supplies, a fridge, bbq, etc."

Prior to the police intervention, viral videos captured individuals associated with the encampment blocking roads and actively directing vehicles, significantly disrupting local traffic flow. This public display of control over city streets intensified calls for law enforcement action, leading to the eventual sweep. Another journalist, Cam Higby, posted footage showing police moving in and dismantling tents.

The Portland Police Bureau confirmed the clearance, noting that officers were enforcing traffic laws and ensuring sidewalks remained clear. This action contrasts with earlier periods where the encampment persisted despite previous efforts by the city to abate it. The police emphasized their role in maintaining public order and addressing violations such as blocked sidewalks.
