Re, a decentralized reinsurance infrastructure platform, has significantly expanded its offerings on the Avalanche blockchain with the introduction of two new institutional-grade onchain yield products, reUSD and reUSDe, alongside a new Re Points Program. The announcement, made via a tweet from the official Re account, stated, "> Re is growing on @avax 🌋 reUSD & reUSDe are here — fully-backed, institutional grade, and earning you Re Points for being early." This move aims to bridge traditional capital markets with the speed and composability of blockchain technology.

The newly launched products are designed for institutional capital allocators seeking transparent and sustainable yield sources within the decentralized finance (DeFi) space. reUSD (Basis-Plus) generates yield from U.S. Treasury bills and delta-neutral ETH basis strategies, notably isolating investors from direct insurance risk. Conversely, reUSDe (Insurance Alpha) is backed by fully collateralized underwriting of U.S. insurance lines, including homeowners, auto, and workers' compensation, with transparent onchain tracking.

Both reUSD and reUSDe are KYC/AML-gated, ensuring compliance with institutional standards, and are integrated with Avalanche-native DeFi protocols. Karn Saroya, CEO of Re, emphasized the importance of this development, stating, "Onchain institutional capital is looking for transparent, sustainable yield sources, and we believe reinsurance is DeFi’s most compelling new category." He added that launching on Avalanche enables the delivery of real-world returns with onchain speed, composability, and compliance.

The accompanying Re Points Program is designed to incentivize early participation and engagement within Re’s onchain ecosystem. Participants can earn points by allocating capital to reUSD and reUSDe, and by engaging with integrated liquidity pools on platforms like Pharaoh Exchange and Blackhole Curve. These points are slated to contribute to future rewards and incentive mechanisms, providing an additional benefit for early adopters.

Eric Kang, Head of DeFi at Ava Labs, underscored Avalanche's role, noting, "Avalanche is the ideal foundation for innovative real-world asset strategies." He highlighted how Re's new offerings demonstrate seamless integration of regulated financial products into blockchain ecosystems, fostering institutional adoption and expanding opportunities for builders and communities within the Avalanche network.
