Shanghai, China – Shanghai Wuji Technology has officially released its first-generation Wuji Hand, a plug-and-play robotic hand designed to master dexterity and define precision. The advanced robotic hand, which will go on sale in the second half of 2025, is priced at 39,800 yuan, approximately $5,500. This launch marks a significant step for the company in the burgeoning field of advanced robotics.
The Wuji Hand is engineered to perform complex tasks with remarkable human-like capability, boasting features such as a high-resolution tactile palm and highly flexible fingers. According to research from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which aligns with the product's description, the device integrates 181,000 sensing units per square centimeter in its palm, making it 754 times more sensitive than human skin. Its fingers are capable of 204.3 degrees of bending, allowing for intricate manipulation.
The robotic hand utilizes intelligent coordination algorithms that enable seamless palm-finger interaction, enhancing its ability to grasp objects with stability and distinguish between different materials. Demonstrations have shown the Wuji Hand executing maneuvers like retrieving cards with precision, detecting microscopic flaws in fabrics, and pouring tea while automatically adjusting its grip. The system also incorporates advanced AI technology to improve object recognition performance.
Cofounded by Pan Yunzhe in 2018, Shanghai Wuji Technology has already begun generating revenue from selling robotic parts, including motors. The company has successfully raised $6 million in total funding from notable investors such as ZhenFund and HongShan (formerly Sequoia China), underscoring confidence in its innovative robotic solutions and future growth potential in the robotics market.
