San Francisco, CA – Solana Mobile has officially begun shipping its new crypto-native smartphone, the Seeker, to over 150,000 pre-order customers across more than 50 countries. The device, designed to enhance the mobile Web3 experience for active Solana users, marks a significant evolution from its predecessor, the Saga.
The Seeker, priced at $500, aims to address the shortcomings of the original Saga phone by offering a smaller, lighter design and an extended battery life. Emmett Hollyer, General Manager at Solana Mobile, emphasized the Seeker's targeted audience, stating, "If you're somebody who transacts at least once a week, frankly, then you might not be a full on power user, but you're at least a regular enough user that Seeker makes sense." The phone focuses on providing a seamless, crypto-first user experience for on-chain transactions within the Solana ecosystem.
The launch has garnered attention across the crypto community, including a cryptic tweet from "swen | lightprotocol.com" that read, "> @aeyakovenko @laurashin but they were all of them deceived, for another phone was made…". This post, tagging Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko and prominent crypto journalist Laura Shin, playfully alludes to the unexpected arrival of the Seeker and its potential impact on the nascent crypto phone market. While Light Protocol itself has not announced a competing hardware device, the tweet highlights the growing competition and innovation in the sector.
The Seeker's release, following its pre-market perpetual futures trading debut on August 25, 2025, positions Solana Mobile to further integrate the blockchain experience into daily mobile usage. With a substantial number of pre-orders, the Seeker is poised to become a key device for dedicated Solana ecosystem participants, offering them the ability to conduct on-chain transactions with unprecedented speed and convenience.
