Authorities are actively searching for a 27-year-old man identified as Anmol Bhatia, who is accused of abusing and killing a small dog during a home invasion in West Hollywood earlier this month. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) announced Thursday that they are seeking public assistance in locating Bhatia following the tragic incident. KTLA initially reported on the event, stating, "Small dog abused, killed by suspect breaking into West Hollywood home: LASD."
The incident occurred on September 4, just after 11:30 p.m., at a residence on the 1200 block of North Harper Avenue. Surveillance video from inside the home reportedly shows the suspect, Anmol Bhatia, entering the property without permission. A small dog was visible in a bedroom doorway as Bhatia attempted to enter.
“Upon entry, Bhatia abused the victim’s dog until it became unresponsive. The dog was found deceased by responding deputies,” the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in their announcement.
Detectives describe Bhatia as 5 feet 10 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. The LASD is urging anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the West Hollywood Detective Bureau at 310-855-8850.
