Veeam Software, a global leader in data resilience owned by Insight Partners, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Securiti AI for approximately $1.725 billion in cash and stock. The acquisition, initially reported by Bloomberg and confirmed by Techmeme, is set to close in the first week of December, significantly expanding Veeam's capabilities in data security and AI trust. This strategic move aims to integrate Securiti AI's advanced data security solutions with Veeam's robust data protection offerings.

The acquisition addresses the growing challenge organizations face in managing fragmented data across diverse environments and ensuring its integrity for artificial intelligence initiatives. Anand Eswaran, CEO at Veeam, emphasized the evolving landscape, stating, > "It’s no longer about just protecting data from cyber threats and unforeseen disasters; it’s also about identifying all your data, ensuring it’s governed and trusted to power AI transparently." The combined entity seeks to provide a unified command center for data control, security, and recovery.

Securiti AI, recognized for its Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) platform, offers solutions spanning privacy, governance, access, and AI trust across hybrid, multi-cloud, and SaaS platforms. Its Data Command Center, powered by a unique knowledge graph, unifies data intelligence and security controls. Rehan Jalil, CEO at Securiti AI, highlighted the importance of this integration, noting, > "Enterprise AI is simply not possible without data security. Securiti AI solves that and enables the safe use of data and AI."

Upon the transaction's completion, Rehan Jalil will join Veeam as President of Security and AI, bringing his extensive experience in cybersecurity to the leadership team. This acquisition marks Veeam's largest to date and aligns with a broader trend of consolidation within the data industry, as companies seek to enhance their data stacks to support AI adoption. Veeam, which was valued at $15 billion after a $2 billion secondary sale in December 2024, continues to strategically invest in expanding its market footprint.

The integration of Securiti AI's platform with Veeam's existing product family is expected to provide customers with a single control plane for their entire data estate. This will enable precise recovery and rollback of data and AI models, minimizing data loss and business downtime, while ensuring privacy and regulatory compliance. The companies plan to announce new integrated capabilities soon, further solidifying their position in the evolving data resilience and security market.
