Abhilash Chowdhary, co-founder of Crustdata and an alumnus of Y Combinator's Fall 2024 (F24) batch, recently spoke at Y Combinator, sharing his entrepreneurial journey with the current F25 batch as they prepare for their upcoming Demo Day. Chowdhary, whose company Crustdata recently secured a significant $6 million seed funding round, offered insights into the weeks leading up to his own Demo Day experience last year. He extended his best wishes to the F25 batch, stating, "Wishing the whole F25 batch the very best for demo day next week!"

Crustdata, founded by Chowdhary and Chris Pisarski, specializes in providing real-time B2B company and people data via APIs, serving as a crucial data layer for AI agents. The company's innovative approach has led to rapid growth, achieving an impressive $4 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) within just seven months of its Fall 2024 Y Combinator graduation. This rapid scaling was accomplished without any outbound marketing efforts.

The $6 million seed round was led by Y Combinator and A Capital, with additional participation from General Catalyst, SV Angel, and Phosphor Capital. Notably, Y Combinator itself is a customer of Crustdata, utilizing its technology to power its founder discovery and recruitment platform. Garry Tan, CEO of Y Combinator, lauded the company, stating, "Crustdata is one of the strongest companies to come out of the Fall 2024 YC batch. We were so impressed with the founding team and how quickly they've made inroads with B2B customers that we hired them to source and deliver data to help us find and recruit startups to join YC."

The current Y Combinator F25 batch, which runs from October to December, is heavily focused on AI-native companies, reflecting a broader industry trend. Their Demo Day is scheduled for early December, where participating startups will present their innovations to a curated audience of investors and media. Chowdhary's return to speak underscores the accelerator's emphasis on alumni mentorship and community support.
