San Francisco, CA – Vanta, a prominent AI-powered trust management platform, has announced the appointment of Scott Holden as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). The news, initially shared by Vanta CEO Christina Cacioppo on social media, marks a significant strategic addition to the company's leadership team, leveraging Holden's 20 years of marketing expertise in high-growth SaaS environments.
Christina Cacioppo, Vanta’s CEO and co-founder, formally welcomed Holden, stating in a tweet, "Big day at Vanta: after a couple of days in the transfer portal, @scottiholden commits to the purple llamas. Looking forward to working with you Scott!" This playful reference underscores the anticipation surrounding Holden's arrival. As CMO, Holden will oversee Vanta’s global marketing efforts, including brand, product marketing, demand generation, and communications.
Holden joins Vanta from Brex, where he most recently served as CMO, evolving its brand into a leading AI-powered spend platform and contributing to a 90% growth in its enterprise business. His tenure at Brex also saw a 70% increase in sign-ups for the startups business and a twofold increase in spend efficiency. Prior to Brex, he spent over eight years at ThoughtSpot as CMO and Head of Go-to-Market Operations, scaling the marketing organization to over $150 million in software revenue.
His extensive background also includes seven years at Salesforce, where he held various marketing leadership roles, including Vice President of Marketing for the Salesforce Platform, Sales Cloud, and Chatter. Holden’s experience in building and scaling world-class teams and driving category creation in competitive markets is expected to be crucial for Vanta's continued expansion.
Holden expressed his enthusiasm for joining Vanta, noting, "What stood out to me about Vanta immediately, beyond the clear product-market fit, was the truly special way Vanta is reimagining critical, complicated security work as approachable and scalable, especially in the age of AI." He added that Vanta’s vision for AI-powered trust is "never more relevant—or essential—than it is today." His personal experience with the complexities of SOC 2 compliance further motivated his decision.
Vanta, founded in 2018, is known for its AI-powered platform that simplifies and centralizes security and compliance for over 11,000 companies globally. The company recently introduced the Vanta AI Agent to automate GRC workflows and achieved ISO 42001 certification, reinforcing its commitment to AI trust. Holden's appointment is poised to enhance Vanta's market presence and accelerate its growth trajectory in the evolving landscape of AI-driven trust management.
