LOS ANGELES, CA – Steadfast LA, in partnership with Banc of California, has provided a small business grant to Palisades Veterinary Center, a local institution in the Pacific Palisades. The grant is part of a broader initiative to support businesses impacted by the devastating January 2025 wildfires across Los Angeles communities. The announcement was made by Steadfast LA, highlighting their ongoing commitment to local businesses. Steadfast LA, a nonprofit organization founded by civic leader Rick Caruso, launched its Small Business Initiative with an initial $1 million donation from Banc of California’s Wildfire Relief & Recovery Fund. This program offers direct grants of up to $50,000 to independent businesses in wildfire-affected areas, including Altadena, Malibu, Pasadena, and the Pacific Palisades, to aid in their recovery and operational support. Rick Caruso, Founder and Chairman of Steadfast LA, personally visited the veterinary center, stating, “We’re proud to support this beloved local business with a small business grant, made possible through our partnership with Banc of California.” The initiative was established to address the significant challenges faced by small businesses in the wake of the January 2025 fires, which ravaged parts of Los Angeles. Jared Wolff, Chairman and CEO of Banc of California, emphasized the bank's commitment to the local economy, noting that small businesses are the "foundation of our local economy." The grants aim to help these businesses recover from fire-related damages and ensure their continued presence in the community. Palisades Veterinary Center, a well-regarded local establishment, is among the recipients benefiting from this recovery effort. During the visit, Caruso met with Dr. L and "Sherlock," described as "one of the most famous cats in town," underscoring the personal connection and community focus of the grant program. Over 500 small businesses have reportedly applied for these grants, with distributions continuing in affected areas.
