Tesla has officially launched its Cybertruck in South Korea, marking the electric pickup truck's first major international expansion outside of North America. The announcement, made by the official Cybertruck X account, stated, "> Ready to help seal the honmoon Cybertruck now available in Korea." This move positions South Korea as a crucial market for the vehicle's global rollout, with deliveries expected to commence in late 2025.

Existing reservation holders in South Korea were given a limited window from August 29 to September 4, 2025, to confirm their orders through their Tesla accounts. New orders for the Cybertruck are set to open on September 5, 2025. Failure by reservation holders to confirm within the specified period will result in the loss of their original reservation date and priority.

Two variants of the Cybertruck are available: the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) model and the top-tier Cyberbeast. The Cybertruck AWD is priced at 145 million Korean Won (approximately $104,000 USD), while the Cyberbeast is listed at 160 million Korean Won (approximately $114,500 USD). This pricing reflects a slight markup compared to US pricing, primarily attributed to shipping costs and tariffs from the Giga Texas production facility.

South Korea represents a strategically important market for Tesla due to its tech-savvy and design-conscious consumer base, as well as the country's strong demand for electric vehicles. Tesla Korea has positioned the Cybertruck as a "Bold Futuristic Luxury" vehicle, aiming to appeal to a market that values unique design and innovation. The launch follows a period of strong sales for Tesla in South Korea, with the company setting new monthly sales records.

Despite its unconventional design, the Cybertruck has garnered significant pre-order interest in South Korea since its initial unveiling in 2019. The vehicle features advanced systems like steer-by-wire and a durable stainless steel exoskeleton, contributing to its unique market position. This expansion into a key Asian market is seen as a significant step in the Cybertruck's gradual global introduction, with potential implications for its reception in other style-conscious regions.
