Cardi B has announced she is already planning her third studio album, targeting a release in less than a year, following the recent launch of her sophomore effort, Am I the Drama?. The Grammy-winning artist confirmed via social media that there would be no deluxe version or remix album for Am I the Drama?, opting instead to move swiftly into a new creative phase. "I want to put out another album in less than a year, so I'm really planning on that," she stated, emphasizing her desire for a fresh artistic direction.

Her second album, Am I the Drama?, was released on September 19, 2025, marking her return after a seven-year hiatus since her debut, Invasion of Privacy. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, making her the only female rapper in history to have her first two albums top the chart. It received generally positive reviews, with critics highlighting her lyrical delivery and honesty, despite some noting its length.

Cardi B expressed a clear vision for her upcoming project, stating it will feature "different lyrical themes" as she enters a new chapter in her life. "I want a new era, I kinda know what I want it to look like. It's gonna be different from Am I the Drama?" she explained. This rapid turnaround contrasts sharply with the extensive wait for her second album, which was recorded over a six-year period.

The decision to forgo a deluxe edition for Am I the Drama? was also directly addressed by the artist. "I see you guys asking for a deluxe or asking to do a remix album like Charli XCX or something... unfortunately, I am not doing none of that," she clarified. This commitment to a new body of work signals an accelerated creative pace for the artist, who is also scheduled to embark on her "Little Miss Drama Tour" in February 2026.
