Critically Acclaimed "Sinners," with 97% Rotten Tomatoes Score, Returns to IMAX Theaters for One Week

Warner Bros.' successful horror film "Sinners," directed by Ryan Coogler and starring Michael B. Jordan, is set for a special one-week re-release in select IMAX theaters from October 30 to November 5. The announcement, highlighted by Benyam Ephrem's tweet stating "sinners imax re-release oct 30 - nov 5," offers audiences another opportunity to experience the critically acclaimed movie in its intended premium format, just in time for Halloween. This marks the second IMAX re-release for the film, which originally premiered in April.

"Sinners" quickly became a box office phenomenon, grossing $278.5 million domestically and over $366 million worldwide against a reported $90 million budget. The film, praised for its genre-blending narrative and strong performances, earned a remarkable 97% on Rotten Tomatoes from critics and a 96% audience score, making it one of the highest-reviewed movies of the year. Its initial theatrical run saw a rare second-weekend drop of only 6%, indicating strong word-of-mouth.

The decision to bring "Sinners" back to IMAX screens stems from its overwhelming popularity and a previous limited IMAX availability. The film's original IMAX run was reportedly cut short to accommodate other releases, such as Marvel's "Thunderbolts." This re-release allows fans to see the movie in IMAX and IMAX 70MM, as envisioned by director Coogler, who previously stated, "Sinners was made for theaters. We wanted people to feel every note, every heartbeat."

Michael B. Jordan stars in a dual role as identical twins, Smoke and Stack, in the R-rated horror-drama set in the 1930s American South. The brothers return home and open a juke joint, only to confront a terrifying vampire threat. The narrative weaves together Western tropes, vampire mythology, and historical context, earning it descriptions as a "lavishly serious popcorn movie" and a film about "the wages of sin in Black America."

The re-release will extend to select locations across North America, the UK, France, Spain, and other international territories. Industry observers suggest that the timing also positions "Sinners" for renewed attention during the upcoming awards season. This limited engagement provides a crucial chance for audiences to revisit or discover the film's immersive visual and sound experience on the big screen.
