Rain, a company specializing in stablecoin-powered payment infrastructure, has successfully raised $58 million in a Series B funding round. The investment was led by Sapphire Ventures, with participation from notable firms including Dragonfly, Galaxy Ventures, Endeavor Catalyst, Samsung Next, Lightspeed, and Norwest. This latest capital injection, announced on August 28, 2025, brings Rain's total funding to $88.5 million, coming just five months after its Series A round.
The funding underscores growing investor confidence in Rain's mission to bridge traditional financial systems with blockchain-based payments. As a Visa Principal Member, Rain enables fintechs, banks, and marketplaces to issue Visa debit and credit cards, digital wallets, and other programs directly tied to stablecoins. This allows for instant and compliant movement, storage, and use of stablecoins across a global network.
Rain has reported significant growth, with its transaction volume expanding tenfold since January 2025. The company's platform supports over 1.5 billion people through its partners, processing millions of transactions across more than 150 countries. This rapid adoption highlights the increasing demand for solutions that make stablecoins usable in everyday commerce.
The newly secured funds will be utilized to expand Rain's platform and services, target new markets, and enhance its engineering, commercial, and compliance teams. CEO and co-founder Farooq Malik emphasized the company's goal to "bring that simplicity back to billions of people," referring to the instant movement of money across borders and platforms.
Enterprise interest in stablecoins has surged following regulatory clarity provided by frameworks such as the GENIUS Act in the U.S. and the MiCA framework in Europe. Jai Das, President and Partner at Sapphire Ventures, stated, "Stablecoins have scaled to hundreds of billions in circulation, but until now, they couldn’t be easily spent. Rain is working to fix that by connecting stablecoins to Visa’s global network." Anand Iyer, an early backer, expressed his pride in the team's achievement, stating, > "Congrats to team Rain on their series B. Rain is the global stablecoin infrastructure: money-in, wallets, payouts. Proud early backer!"
