Eric Weinstein Praises Lord's Prayer for Universal Appeal and Ethical Guidance

Eric Weinstein, a prominent podcaster and mathematician, recently took to social media to express his admiration for the Lord's Prayer, highlighting its abstract nature and ethical admonitions. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Weinstein lauded the prayer's ability to resonate broadly, stating, "Lastly, I just want to give a shout out to the Lord’s Prayer. It is abstract enough for anyone to recite. It doesn’t require you to switch teams."

Weinstein, known for his unconventional views and self-described "atheist who prays" stance, drew a parallel between the Lord's Prayer and the Jewish Shema, noting, "Like the Shema, it’s just great. I recited it regularly as a kid." He emphasized the prayer's enduring relevance, particularly its focus on personal accountability and forgiveness in an increasingly interconnected world. "Its admonishing us to own our own trespassing & forgive the trespassing of others is so important to have front of mind now with our interconnected world, and at all times," he added.
