Washington D.C. – U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) has referred activist Aisha Nizar to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) following Nizar's public statements encouraging the disruption of the F-35 fighter jet supply chain. Rep. Luna announced her action on social media, stating, "Not smart to make a public call to mess with our F-35 supply chain. Issues of national security are taken very seriously. I have referred this individual to the FBI."

Nizar, an organizer with the Palestinian Youth Movement (PYM), made the controversial remarks at the "People's Conference for Palestine" held in Detroit. During the conference, she highlighted the F-35 program's reliance on a "just-in-time" logistics process, suggesting that disrupting even a single node could significantly impact U.S. operations. Nizar emphasized the strategic importance of intervention, noting, "If even one specific node of the F-35 supply chain is disrupted, it has a huge impact on our people back home."

The activist's comments come amidst a broader campaign by the Palestinian Youth Movement to halt military shipments, particularly F-35 components, to Israel. A recent report by PYM documented at least 280 shipments of military equipment, including F-35 parts like BRU-68 bomb release units, routed through Oakland International Airport to Israel's Nevatim Airbase this year. Nizar stated that these shipments are concerning as they involve "the same bombs that we have seen destroy hospitals, churches, mosques."

The PYM's efforts, including the "Mask off Maersk" campaign, aim to pressure shipping companies involved in transporting military cargo. Nizar has been vocal in previous protests, including those that blocked the Bay Bridge in San Francisco, advocating for a ceasefire in Gaza and an arms embargo. Rep. Luna's referral underscores the gravity with which U.S. authorities view any perceived threats to critical defense infrastructure. The FBI has not yet issued a public statement regarding the referral.
