Moraga, CA – The Town FC, the MLS NEXT Pro affiliate of the San Jose Earthquakes, has officially qualified for the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs. The announcement came from the San Jose Earthquakes via social media, congratulating Head Coach Dan DeGeer and the team on their achievement.

"Congratulations to Head Coach Dan DeGeer & @TheTown_FC for qualifying for the 2025 @MLSNEXTPRO Playoffs! ⭐️" the San Jose Earthquakes stated in a tweet.

This marks a significant milestone for the East Bay-based club, which operates under a unique partnership with the San Jose Earthquakes. The Town FC, formerly known as Earthquakes II, was rebranded in March 2024, with The Town Group managing commercial operations while the Earthquakes maintain technical control. The team plays the majority of its home matches at Saint Mary's Stadium in Moraga.

Head Coach Dan DeGeer has been a pivotal figure in the team's success, having previously guided Earthquakes II to their first playoff appearance in the 2023 season. His leadership has been recognized, with MLS NEXT Pro naming him Coach of the Month in May 2024, alongside The Town FC being named Team of the Month. This consistent performance underscores the team's development pathway within the league.

MLS NEXT Pro, a Division III professional men's soccer league, serves as a crucial bridge for player development from MLS NEXT academies to Major League Soccer first teams. The Town FC's qualification for the 2025 playoffs highlights the effectiveness of this pathway and the club's commitment to nurturing local talent and fostering a strong soccer culture in the East Bay. The team's strong showing in the regular season, including a notable five-match unbeaten streak earlier in the 2025 season, has positioned them as a formidable contender.
