Legendary filmmaker Darren Aronofsky has launched a new artificial intelligence (AI) venture, Primordial Soup, in collaboration with Google DeepMind. The initiative aims to explore and shape the future of storytelling by integrating AI as a creative tool, with a distinct focus on empowering human artists. The company is notably seeking "AI artists who aren’t afraid to break things," as highlighted in a recent social media post by Nick St. Pierre.

The partnership with Google DeepMind will provide Primordial Soup and selected filmmakers early access to cutting-edge generative AI video tools, including Google's Veo model. McNitt noted that the AI tools allowed her to "visualize the unseen, transforming family archives, emotions, and science into a cinematic experience."
