Blackmagic Design has officially released DaVinci Resolve 19, a major update to its popular video editing, color correction, visual effects, and audio post-production software. The new version introduces a suite of AI-powered tools, significant performance enhancements, and expanded cloud collaboration features, aiming to streamline workflows for both new users and seasoned professionals. The update is available for Mac, Windows, and Linux, with many features also extending to the iPad version.

A central theme of DaVinci Resolve 19 is the integration of AI through the DaVinci Neural Engine. Key additions include IntelliTrack AI for precise object tracking across Color, Fusion, and Fairlight pages, and UltraNR, an AI-based noise reduction tool in the Color page for significantly cleaner footage. The Edit page benefits from advanced text-based editing with speaker detection and the ability to edit timelines directly from transcribed text, offering a revolutionary approach to content assembly.

Performance improvements are notable, with up to 4x faster H.264 and H.265 decoding on the free Windows version and up to 3.5x faster Super Scale operations on supported AMD systems in the Studio version. New creative tools abound, such as the Film Look Creator (Studio only) for cinematic grading, and ColorSlice, a fixed vector grading tool for precise color manipulation. Fairlight, the audio post-production suite, gains AI Audio Panning to Video, automatically matching sound movement to on-screen subjects, alongside new Dialogue Separator and Music Remixer FX for enhanced audio control.

Blackmagic Cloud capabilities have been expanded to include organization profiles, improved media sync, and URL presentation sharing, fostering more efficient remote collaboration. The update also brings support for the new DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel, German and Italian localizations, and numerous quality-of-life improvements across all pages, reinforcing DaVinci Resolve's position as a comprehensive post-production solution.
