GSA Launches USAi Platform, Advancing Federal AI Adoption Under National Action Plan

WASHINGTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced the launch of USAi on August 14, 2025, a new secure generative artificial intelligence evaluation suite designed to accelerate AI adoption across federal agencies. This initiative directly supports the strategic priorities outlined in the White House’s "America’s AI Action Plan," a comprehensive national strategy to bolster U.S. leadership in artificial intelligence. The announcement prompted a positive reaction from Dean W. USAi, now accessible at USAi.gov, provides federal users with powerful tools such as chat-based AI, code generation, and document summarization within a secure, standards-aligned environment. The platform aims to enable agencies to experiment with and adopt AI at scale, offering a cost-free solution for exploring capabilities, measuring performance, and making informed decisions about AI integration. This shared services platform expands the federal government’s AI infrastructure, fostering secure and scalable digital capabilities.

The launch of USAi is a direct implementation of the "America’s AI Action Plan," unveiled by the Trump Administration on July 23, 2025. This plan identifies over 90 federal policy actions across three core pillars: Accelerating AI Innovation, Building American AI Infrastructure, and Leading in International AI Diplomacy and Security. Its overarching goal is to secure U.S. dominance in artificial intelligence and deliver its benefits across various sectors.

GSA Deputy Administrator Stephen Ehikian emphasized the strategic importance of the new platform, stating, “USAi means more than access—it’s about delivering a competitive advantage to the American people.” He further explained that the launch translates President Trump’s AI strategy into action, empowering agencies to modernize faster, boost security, and lead globally. The platform streamlines AI experimentation, supporting the creation of interoperable solutions aligned with federal priorities.

The initiative underscores the federal government's commitment to fostering a pro-innovation environment for AI development and deployment.
