Nokia has reportedly integrated an AI assistant from Kapa.ai into its technical documentation, aiming to significantly enhance the developer experience by providing faster and more reliable access to information. The announcement, shared by Emil on social media, highlighted that Nokia's documentation is now "as indestructible as their phones" thanks to this new AI capability. This move addresses the challenge developers face in navigating vast technical libraries to find specific answers.
The Kapa.ai assistant is designed to provide accurate, cited responses directly from Nokia's extensive technical documentation. According to the social media post, this eliminates the need for developers to manually search through dozens of pages or resort to general-purpose AI tools like ChatGPT, which may lack specific domain knowledge or cite sources. Kapa.ai specializes in preventing AI hallucinations by citing its sources and indicating when it lacks an answer, ensuring reliability for technical inquiries.
This integration aligns with Nokia's broader strategic push into artificial intelligence. The company recently announced the creation of a new Technology and AI Organization (TAO), effective October 1, 2025, to strengthen its capabilities in technology innovation. Pallavi Mahajan, formerly of Intel, is set to lead this organization as Chief Technology and AI Officer, underscoring Nokia's commitment to leveraging AI across its operations, from network optimization to industrial applications and human-centric AI.
The adoption of AI for technical documentation reflects a growing industry trend to improve efficiency for developers and users. Kapa.ai's platform helps companies transform their knowledge bases into intelligent assistants, fostering faster onboarding and reducing support queries. This development promises to enable developers working with Nokia's technologies to operate more efficiently, as "Every new AI assistant on top of company docs is a new wave of developers who get to work faster," Emil stated in the tweet.
