San Francisco – Replit, the agentic software creation platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Microsoft aimed at democratizing software development for enterprise customers. The collaboration integrates Replit's "Vibe Coding" capabilities with Microsoft Azure services, enabling business teams to build and deploy secure, production-ready applications using natural language. This development was highlighted by Shaloo Garg, a Microsoft executive, in a recent tweet.
The partnership focuses on making application development accessible to individuals across all departments, not just engineers, by allowing them to create software without traditional coding expertise. Shaloo Garg stated in her tweet, "> 🚀 Excited to announce @Replit strategic partnership with @Microsoft to bring Vibe Coding to enterprise! Replit now integrates with Azure services like Container Apps, VMs & Neon Postgres—secure dev + seamless deploy. Big thanks to the stellar @amasad and the @Replit team!"
As part of the integration, Replit will connect with a wide range of Microsoft infrastructure services, including Azure Container Apps, Azure Virtual Machines, and the Azure-native integration of Neon Serverless Postgres. This will allow applications developed on Replit to be securely and seamlessly deployed on Microsoft Azure's reliable infrastructure. Additionally, customers will soon be able to purchase Replit directly via the Azure Marketplace, streamlining procurement.
Amjad Masad, CEO and co-founder of Replit, emphasized the company's mission to empower individuals to transform ideas into software regardless of their coding experience. Deb Cupp, President of Microsoft Americas, echoed this sentiment, stating that the collaboration "democratizes application development, enabling business teams across enterprises to innovate and solve problems without traditional technical barriers." Replit already serves over 500,000 business users for rapid prototyping and internal tool development.
This strategic alliance is seen as a significant move in the cloud and AI coding landscape, particularly impacting Google Cloud, which has historically hosted many Replit applications. While Replit confirmed the deal is non-exclusive, the partnership strengthens Microsoft's position in the burgeoning "vibe coding" market, offering a complementary tool to its existing GitHub Copilot. Replit's platform, which saw its annual recurring revenue grow from $10 million to $100 million in six months, is SOC 2 Type II compliant, addressing enterprise security and governance needs.
