The company, founded by Aasiyah Abdulsalam, has garnered significant investor attention, raising over $5.7 million in funding to advance its innovative approach. This technological leap addresses a long-stagnant market, promising enhanced efficiency and scalability for human hair wig production.

Mac The VC, an early investor, highlighted the company's transformative potential, stating, > "The Renatural isn’t a wig company. It’s a deep tech beauty manufacturer transforming how wigs are made." He recounted meeting Abdulsalam at a Harvard pitch competition, where she outlined her vision for a radically new manufacturing process. The Renatural's technology allows for the production of five or more wigs daily, a substantial improvement over the traditional hand-making process that can take one to two weeks per unit.

Aasiyah Abdulsalam, who previously invented The Wig Fix, founded The Renatural in 2019 with a mission to modernize the wig industry. The company has secured a pre-seed round of $1.5 million and additional seed funding, including $2 million in 2024 and $4.2 million in August, from investors such as Susa Ventures, Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, Watchfire Ventures, Mark Cuban, and Pharrell Williams. This capital infusion underscores confidence in the company's ability to innovate within the estimated $19 billion global hair extension market.

While The Renatural has launched its own line of hyper-realistic wigs, its long-term strategy includes licensing its patented manufacturing device to brands and manufacturers worldwide. This B2B model aims to capitalize on an industry that has seen minimal innovation for centuries. The company's technology, which integrates robotics and AI, is designed to improve both the quality and efficiency of production, offering a sustainable and ethical alternative to current practices.

The Renatural's Signature Wig Collection, launched on October 22, 2025, features glueless, laceless designs that create a seamless, undetectable finish.
