Menlo Park, CA – Zo Computer, a new venture aiming to redefine personal computing with AI-powered personal servers, has announced a significant seed funding round totaling $7.84 million. The platform aims to provide users with a personal server that acts as an intelligent assistant and workspace. Guo highlighted the practical benefits, noting, "she thinks of Zo as her personal assistant. she texts it to manage her busy schedule, using all the context from her notes and files."

The AI-driven personal server offers functionalities such as schedule management, document editing, deep research capabilities, and file organization. It also empowers users to run code and explore data, as exemplified by Guo's mother, a biologist who uses Zo to manage her research lab. This capability fosters a "real feeling of agency," according to Guo, allowing users to achieve more with their computing resources.

Zo Computer emphasizes data ownership and the creation of personal APIs, positioning itself as a departure from centralized cloud services. The company acknowledged key partners in its development, including @modal, @pydantic AI, @steeldotdev, and @cursor_ai.
